What Guilliman’s return means for the Imperium’s enemies

On the blackest of days, when all hope seems lost and the forces of Chaos seem poised to triumph, the Emperor always has one more trick up His sleeve. That trump card is His beloved son, Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines and Lord Commander of the Imperium.

With Guilliman at the head of His armies, the Imperium has stopped Chaos in its tracks and begun to push back. This has put the factions of Chaos on edge, as they know that if Guilliman is allowed to continue his crusade unchecked, they will be driven back into the Eye of Terror.

The return of Guilliman means that the enemies of the Imperium are now fighting a two-front war. Not only do they have to contend with Guilliman’s forces, but also with those of his brother primarchs. This has put a tremendous strain on their resources, and many believe that it is only a matter of time before they are defeated.

The impact of Guilliman’s return on the wider Warhammer 40,000 universe

In October 2017, it was announced that Guilliman would be returning to the Warhammer 40,000 universe in a new book named The Primarch. This announcement sparked a lot of speculation as to the wider implications of Guilliman’s return.

The most obvious implication is that the Imperium will now have one of its strongest leaders back at the helm. Guilliman is known for his martial prowess and his tactical genius, so his return will no doubt be a boost to the Imperium’s military might. However, it remains to be seen how much of an impact he will actually have on the unfolding events of Warhammer 40,000.

Another interesting implication is that Guilliman’s return could mark the beginning of a new era for the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Up until now, the Imperium has been in a state of decline, slowly losing ground to its enemies. With one of its strongest leaders back at the helm, however, the Imperium may be able to turn the tide and start reclaiming lost territory. This would have huge implications for the balance of power in the galaxy and could change the course of the Warhammer 40,000 story significantly.

It is still too early to say definitively what implications Guilliman’s return will have on the wider Warhammer 40,000 universe. However, it is clear that his return is sure to have a significant impact on the story moving forward.
